The dryer was turning the laundry and heating ok and the load of laundry was dry in about the normal cycle time, but I had to investigate the problem.

So, I took the Maytag apart.  Here is a good shot of our laundry closet with the dryer all apart.

Once I figured out how to take it apart, I saw that the blower fan had separated from the axle.  If you turned the drum, you could see the axle spinning, and the fan would turn a little bit, but only because the disconnected axle would make the main fan turn from simple friction.  This was our noise.

It was late, so we had to call around this morning for a part, and Washer and Refrigeration Repair  http://appliancepartsbirmingham.com/ had our part for less than twenty bucks.  A quick trip downtown, and we had the part.

Back home, we vacuumed out the cabinet and blew all the lint from the parts. Then put it all back together.

As I was putting the dryer vent hose back on, I noticed a strange light coming from inside the dryer.

It was the flashlight! I had left the flashlight in the bottom of the dryer cabinet.  Thankfully, all we had to do was remove the service panel and remove the light.

Now we have a working dryer that runs much more smoothly and I hope it lasts for several more years.  At least now we know how to take it apart and put it back together again.

Fun way to start the weekend, huh.

The second half put us into the wind and we allowed Huntsville to tie things. Then we scored a goal and returned fire to make it 3-3. Then a late handball gave us a free kick that we shot over the goalie for a 4-3 victory!

Liz played very well and we are very proud of her and her team!

Liz has already started saving up for a new electric guitar and lessons, and we are going to the local guitar stores today to look around.

Liz has two good friends coming to the team from school. There are 5 new players who all seem to be strong competitors. We look forward to a great season.

First game was a great 2-2 tie!! Vs Navarre.

Second game was a 2-0 loss, .

Sunday morning we had to have a PK shootout vs. Navarre to see which team in our bracket would be in the semi-finals.  Lizzie was selected to take the second PK for our team and scored with a beautiful PK shot!  After each team had taken 5 shots we were tied at 4-4.  We then went to a situation where each team would take a shot, and if one team missed and the other team made the shot, the shootout would end.  Talk about sudden death!  It was very tense, as our goalie stopped the sixth shot, but then we missed our sixth.  Seventh shot, they made, and then we made our seventh.  Eight shot by Navarre hit the crossbar and failed to score, then our team finally made the shot to end the shootout!  We were going through to the semi-final!

Semi Final started with an  early goal against us.  Then we evened the score, and scored again before halftime.  In the second half we allowed two goals to end in a heartbreaking 3-2 loss.  The team really played well and gave all they had.  We all felt good about how the girls played, and especially Liz for her effort and great attitude!

Back in B’ham now, and all are worn out.

Today’s Game was a close loss  1-2.  We are scoring goals and playing tough defense.  Lizzie had several great saves as middle defender.  Way to go!
